John Gotti, a Notorious Mafia Boss, aka 'The Teflon Don'

A Brief Overview of John Gotti's Life

John Gotti, a prominent figure in organized crime, gained notoriety for his charismatic personality and ability to evade legal convictions, earning him the nickname "The Teflon Don." His rise to power as head of the Gambino crime family in 1985 marked a significant chapter in the history of the New York City underworld.

Gotti's Rise and Fall

Gotti's legal troubles began in the 1980s, when he faced three high-profile trials. However, through a combination of clever lawyering and alleged jury tampering, he managed to secure acquittals in each case. This string of successes further cemented his Teflon Don image. However, in 1992, Gotti's luck ran out and he was convicted on numerous criminal charges, including murder, racketeering, and conspiracy. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, effectively ending his reign as the Teflon Don.
